Montana Tech Pig Roast

Caleb invited some friends from his Alma Mater over last night for a pig roast. We had a great time but I think the pig was a flop. It didn't taste very good. The flavor of the skin seemed to dominate the meat. Everything else was great though!

Family Visit

My sister Maggie and her husband Jon came to visit for the weekend. We had a great time with them. They are excellent guests. They helped out with everything and made it very easy.

They have never been to our house before and they were coming in at about 2:00 AM on Saturday morning. We gave them the code to our garage and told them just come on in. I also told them that I would leave my black pickup outside the garage so they would know our house. The numbers on the house are hard to see at night.

I woke up in the morning and didn't think that they even made it. I didn't hear a thing so I had to check outside to see if their car was out there. Their car was out there but mine was in the garage. I forgot to leave my pickup outside.

We have neighbors that had a black pickup outside of their house though. My sister Maggie found out that they don't have the same garage code that we do. It occurred to Jon that maybe the code wasn't working for a reason and they finally ended up at the right house.

Jon and Maggie brought rockets for the boys to build and launch. They had a great time with the rockets. Jon was also a trooper and helped out with a move while he was here. We would post pictures of the visit but we didn't take a single one. We were too busy having fun.

Oh yeah, and lastly, we went to Crack Pots. I thought it was going to be like the movie Ghost where we got to make the pots and that it would be romantic. I was completely wrong. We had to be creative and my cup looked like a 2 year old did it. We did have a good time though.

WARNING ADULT CONTENT

Tami registered the jeep last week and got license plates for it. Now that it has gas, I would like to drive it a little bit. One evening I went out side to put the plates on and while I was taking out the screws, Silas came out the door, saw what I was doing and said, "Dad, I like to screw." I couldn't help but laugh a little bit. He really does like to do that and he is a great helper. I told him to go inside and tell Mom the same thing. He went inside and told Tami the same thing. She laughed and asked him to come back outside and ask me if I like to screw too. Before it was over, we were laughing so hard and Silas didn't even get to put one of the screws in because he was too busy being our little messenger.

I think it is very important to write these things down because it will help us explain why our kids are so messed up later on. By they way, I'm sure no one will read this anyway because of the warning. If you read this, you are just as bad as we were!!!

Dragging Junk Home

For some reason, Tami allowed me to buy another jeep. We went and bought it on Saturday. We had to run to the bank to get money after we looked at it. When we got back to the owners house, there was a big puddle of gas on his driveway. I didn't think anything of it. Tami told me that he was probably siphoning all the gas out of it. I told her that they were probably putting more into it so that we could make it home. The gas gauge doesn't work so on the way home it was hard to tell were the gas level was. We ended up getting it home without a problem.

I had to replace the battery before I could drive it. We also had to register it so that I wouldn't get pulled over. I got the new battery put in and wanted to drive it to Isaac's practice so I asked Tami's permission. She said, "Do what you want because you are going to anyway. Just don't make me come and pick you up."

Everything was uneventful on the way to practice. We left a little bit early from practice because Isaac was coughing a lot. As soon as we turned into our neighborhood and onto our street, the jeep died. I couldn't believe that I had run out of gas. Now there are going to be a lot of people that are going to say, "I told you so...all those rude comments about 'fill in the name' when they ran out of gas is coming back to you." So everyone who wants say I told you so, go ahead and get it out of your system. By the way, it was very humiliating calling Tami to bring me gas. The only reason I didn't just sneak home, get gas and bring it back is because Isaac didn't have a coat. Even junker old jeeps don't run on air. Tami told me that we are now even for the time that she ran out of gas on the way home from the temple. My little ordeal only took 5 minutes. Hers took more like 55 minutes. Especially after the state trooper wanted to take her in for driving a stolen vehicle. I found out that you shouldn't put old plates on a vehicle until it is actually registered with those plates.
